How do I switch my major to Atkinson Religious Studies?
Through the Registrar's website (www.registrar.yorku.ca/services/forms.htm) OR use the "Change of Major" request form supplied in the back of the York Lecture Schedule OR appear in person at the School of Arts and Letters (SAL) departmental office (625 Atkinson) OR pre-signed forms can be mailed out to you by telephoning SAL office (416) 736-2100 ext. 20489.

Do I have to be in the Religious Studies Program to do the Biblical Studies Certificate?
No. Anyone who takes the required number of credits from the approved list of courses can enroll in and receive the Certificate.

Complete “Application to Graduate with a Degree Undergraduate Level and/or be Awarded a Certificate” Form – back of the Lecture Schedule. Also available through the Registrar’s website (www.registrar.yorku.ca/services/forms.htm)

From what perspective is Religious Studies taught?
As befits a Religious Studies program in a secular, multi-cultural and multi-faith institution, courses are taught from a historical, cultural, archeological and literary point of view, not a faith perspective. Courses are designed for those who like to probe, explore, question and discuss issues of major importance.
