The School of Social Sciences provides undergraduate students with an understanding of the social environments that shape their interests, their opportunities, and their identities. You will gain a solid and critical grounding in social research methods and theories and can link this education with professional certificates in the areas of Anti-Racist Research and Practice, and Refugee and Migration Studies.

The School is housed in a learning environment that values cultural diversity and supports social equality. Courses are offered in a variety of formats, including in-class, internet, correspondence and combined in-class and internet. Professors - renowned for their scholarly pursuits - actively engage in socially relevant research that pushes beyond the expected, and responds to issues and challenges that have both a local and international impact.

Students can take interdisciplinary programs in Social Science and Race, Ethnicity and Indigeneity and disciplinary programs in Sociology and Political Science. You may, if you wish, specialize in streams such as political economy, communication studies, gender and families, diaspora studies, social justice studies and work and the workplace.
