The work of the association building stream has three main objectives. Researchers are:

• studying an innovative effort to support the actions of workers in precarious employment to improve their conditions of work and health and, thereby, inform research questions in other parts of the Alliance;
• examining test cases and legislative reform strategies in order to create and inventory of troublesome employment practices; and
• fostering alliance-building activities

Participants connected to this stream aim to ground ACE's research in the experiences of workers in precarious employment, and workers' perceptions of how to improve their work lives. They are also identifying appropriate forums for the distribution of information and dissemination of findings to other streams, workers in precarious employment themselves and the broader research community.
