Research ::: Grant Completion
Grant Completion
Following successful research and conclusion of the grant, a number of activities must occur in order to prepare the researcher (or research facilities) for further research.
- The researcher disseminates research outputs to different audiences. These activities are driven by the investigator but ORS provides specific assistance in commercialization of research results (patents, trade marks, copyrights, licensing, company creation) and knowledge mobilization (where research has the potential to inform policy or practice)
- In many cases financial reports need to be prepared for the funding agency
- Occasionally labs might need to be decommissioned and research equipment and materials (such as chemicals) disposed of
- Personnel contracts will need to be appropriately managed
Following successful completion of a research grant or contract, the cycle may begin again by reapplication for continued research funding.
