Questionnaires

The questionnaire is the major quantitative research instrument in this project, and is administered in several translations. Interviewers include members drawn from the studied communities, under supervision of team leaders who work closely with the project coordinator and Faculty investigators in the project. Each interviewer is trained before entering the field, and steps are taken to maintain data integrity across the several groups.

The questionnaire is organized in four parts. The first part deals with the respondent's experience in the country of origin; the second, with her or his experiences in the new country. The third part of the questionnaire provides demographic information on the respondent. The fourth includes a few opinion questions. In total, the Questionnaire includes some 99 questions, many in multiple parts. Responses are coded and inputted into a database, for statistical analysis. Another team is trained to input data, under supervision of input coordinator and Faculty.

Included on this website are the Instruction Pages for each questionnaire version, and (as a sample) the first page of the actual questionnaire text. For more information, please contact us.
