April 14 -- ***final announcement*** The final exam has been graded.
The overall average on the final exam was about 75%. Here are the
grades sorted by the last 5 digits of your student
number.
April 14 -- Program 2 is available in the CLAS lab. They are
sorted by AML login -- please keep them sorted for the benefit of your
classmates. The marking scripts are given here for your own testing:
test input file, test
output file. Please confirm the validity of your program before
making regrading requests (which can be submitted to me under my door).
Mar. 31 -- Reminder: all students who wish to take 3000-level ITEC
courses over the summer must get at least a C in this courses. Students
may be de-enrolled after grades are finalized. Note: I will try to
have them posted by Monday, April 14.
Mar. 31 -- ITEC Speaker Series. The third speaker in this
new series will be Dr. Julio Cesar Leite, PhD. He will be speaking
on Friday, 4 April at 1:30pm in Vari Hall 1152A. His talk outline
is available on the ITEC Arts homepage.
Mar. 27 -- Lecture notes for material not covered in the text have
been posted.
Mar. 21 -- *** Final Exam Room Assignments *** Students with
surnames beginning with A-M will write in CSB C, and students with surnames
beginning with N-Z will write in CSB B. Lecture 12b will cover exercises
assigned in lecture 12a, an overview of the sample final exam (which will
be posted by the end of next week), and course evaluations.
Mar. 12 -- The final exam has been scheduled for Wednesday, April
9 from 7:00-10:00pm. I will provide the room assignments by last
name in a future post. I have booked CSB B on Sunday, April 6 from
3:00-5:00 pm for a tutorial session where I will review the forth-coming
sample final exam.
Mar. 11 -- Program 1 is available in the Head TA's office.

Mar. 10 -- ITEC Speaker Series. The second speaker in this
new series will be Prof. Younes Benslimane. He will be speaking on
Friday, 14 March at 1:30pm in Vari Hall 1152A. His talk outline is

Mar. 7 -- Programming project 2 has been posted. It is due
Monday,
March 31 at 4:00 pm. Note: at this time, you should be able to
handle the data entry and the RPN calculator. We will cover the "error
checking" over the next two weeks.
Mar. 6 -- The lab tutor hours have been set for project 2.
From March 11 to March 28, Stephen Morris will be available in CLAS on
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30-9:30 pm (except Tueday March
18 and 25 when he will instead be available from noon-4pm), and Jian Zhou
will be available on Fridays from 3:00-7:00 pm.
Mar. 3 -- Midterms are available from the Head TA (his office is
in the CLAS lab). If you would like your midterm regraded, please
attach a regrading form (see below) and return it with your midterm to
me in class or tutorial, or to the Head TA.
Feb. 24 -- Unfortunately, 20 students have decided to submit copied
programs. If you have copied and you send me an email saying that
you submitted a copied program, I will waive the 5% penalty. If you
have copied and do not wish the person that you copied off of to also get
zero, send me an email saying that you accept full responsibility AND the
5% penalty. Emails must be received by Friday. Academic
dishonesty procedures will begin on Monday, March 3.
Feb. 11 -- Due to a conflict, Stephen Morris will hold his Thursday
lab hours from 12:00-4:00pm in CLAS.
Feb. 6 -- The sample midterm has been posted. I will cover
it in depth during the tutorial on Monday, February 24.
Feb. 4 -- A supplement on complexity estimation has been developed.
Please provide any feedback on the forum.
Feb. 3 -- ITEC Speaker Series. The first speaker in this new
series will be Prof. Andre Kushniruk. He will be speaking on Friday,
14 February at 1:30pm in Vari Hall 1152A.
Jan. 28 -- Due to today's fire alarm, the next three lectures will
be rearranged as follows:
Jan. 22 -- Programming project 1 has been posted. It is due
